Cement-Bentonite (CB) barriers are expected to become a sustainable and reliable engineering solution. The deformation of CB is interest engineers comprehend, particularly how responds changes in loading during its construction service life. purpose this study was examine samples mixtures behaved consolidation. This investigated: (1) the influence curing time constituent materials on consolidation properties samples, (2) volumetric change rate response specific condition via tests. For purpose, laboratory test with load range 50 3200 kPa carried out accordance BS 1377-7:1990 using oedometer apparatus. discovered that characteristics similar those overconsolidated soil. sample became more resistant under varying loads as progressed. presence bentonite resulted an increase recompression index. inclusion GGBS contributed through following mechanisms: significant decrease degree period longer than 28 days, despite slow strength development early-age curing; preconsolidation pressure; addition found be effective increasing pressure.
